Die Vryolopende Afrikaner
This was created as a group project for submission to the Pendoring Awards. Asked to create a campaign that specifically addressed an official language in South Africa, the team chose a Butchery called Impala Meats as the vehicle for this idea. Using the typical stereotype of Afrikaans people being barefoot, we interpreted this as a “free-range" nature and incorporated the ideas into new packaging for the company alongside a video advertisement. The group, comically named “Eish!”, of which I was a part, won a Craft Gold award for this campaign at Pendoring 2024. Credits go to the wonderfully talented Ester Terblanche, Stefan Milos, and Taylor Rhoades for the visuals, and translations. As of 2025, It has also won a Silver Loerie award.
